If your eardrums have had enough of being blasted by an overly-noisy car, perhaps it’s time you considered switching to a vehicle with a little less engine noise, and a little more soundproofing. Enter the 2014 Chevy Impala; a car so quiet, a blues-rock band in Detroit used one as a recording studio for their latest track.
Thanks to the same Active Noise Cancellation technology you find in high-end headphones, the 2014 Chevy Impala’s interior remains strong and silent. It was for this reason that The Gentlemen Mutineers chose the sedan as the best place to record a song. The Impala was parked in one of the noisiest areas of Detroit—right by the Tigers stadium on a game day, with the inevitable construction that plagues the Michigan summer, and a live concert going on just down the street. Yet none of these background noises made it onto the track, which was recorded on a laptop by Mark Pastoria from Harmonie Park Studios.
Other factors that combine to make the 2014 Chevy Impala the peaceful haven it is include sound-absorbing carpet, acoustic foam, triple-sealed doors, liquid-applied sound deadener, and acoustically laminated glass.
