Have you ever wondered who gets to buy the first car in a new model? This year, the owner of the first 2015 Corvette Z06 will be determined at the Barrett-Jackson Collector Car Auction in April. The highest bidder will drive home in the “most track-capable Corvette” ever, and the Karmanos Cancer Institute will benefit from the proceeds.
Funds raised from the sale will specifically help finance the renovation of Karmanos’ infusion center, which offers a comfortable haven of sorts for patients receiving chemotherapy.
“Chevrolet’s donation of the first 2015 Corvette Z06 produced is yet another way that we are showing our continued support of the Karmanos Cancer Institute,” said Dan Ammann, president of General Motors. “The funds raised from the auction will help further the exceptional patient care that Karmanos is known for in our community and across the country.”
If you’re interested in becoming the first owner of the 2015 Corvette Z06 and supporting the cause but won’t be making the trek to Palm Beach, you can bid online as well. Otherwise, we expect you’ll be able to check out the newest ‘Vette at Gjovik Auto early next year.
