Snow and rain can cause even the most reliable vehicles (in other words, Chevys) to rust over time. If you are worried about rust, consider buying one of the four most rust-resistant Chevy models.
Chevy Bolt: The Bolt is notably rust-resistant. A key reason for its resistance to rust is the large use of plastic for many of its parts that are exposed to the elements. In addition, General Motors has done a fantastic job at using techniques to ensure all exposed metal parts are corrosion-proof, especially on the underside of the Bolt.
Chevy Sonic: Smaller vehicles specifically get rust-resistance attention from Chevy, which explains why the Sonic joins the Bolt on this list. The frame and body panels of the Sonic use formulated galvanized steel, which is resistant to rust.
Chevy Corvette: A lot of sports car owners hate to take their vehicles out in the rain. Even if you get caught in a rainstorm in your ‘Vette, you have little to worry about. The use of carbon and plastic in the Corvette make it especially resistant to rust.
Chevy Silverado: The Silverado is America’s longest-lasting and most dependable pickup truck, for many reasons. One of those reasons is its rust-resistance. Specifically, the 2014 model year is particularly rust-resistant.
For the 2019 model year, the GMC Sierra is getting completely redesigned. This means new styling, new technology, and new features. If you have been waiting for this new arrival, the 2019 GMC Sierra Denali is coming to Gjovik Chevrolet Buick GMC.
“GMC ignited the premium truck market 17 years ago with the launch of the Sierra Denali and the next-generation model sets a new standard with unparalleled advancements and exclusive design,” said Rich Latek, marketing director of GMC. “It offers more upscale appointments, purposeful technologies and capability — solidifying Denali as the ultimate in professional grade.”
The Denali model offers premium amenities as standard. These include Adaptive Ride Control, a powerful V8 engine, an industry-first cabin fiber pickup box, a segment-first Multi-Color Head-Up Display, and a new ProGrade Trailering System with in-vehicle Trailering App.
This premium truck will also come with the GMC exclusive, industry-first MultiPro Tailgate. This innovative tailgate has six positions and functions including enhanced second-tier loading, load-stop solutions, and a standing workstation that makes it even easier to get the job done and access items in the bed.
For even more versatility, the Sierra Denali offers a variety of available features like 22-inch aluminum wheels, customizable driver profiles, and a GMC Premium Infotainment System.
If you’re looking to save money during the holidays, you’re not alone. It’s a tricky financial time for most people. But, with these tips from Gjovik Chevy Buick GMC, you can take control over your spending this year.
Prioritize Your Budget
Don’t let your family’s wish lists dictate your budget. After all, there’s no rule that says you have to buy everything on their lists. Instead, figure out how much you’re able and willing to spend this year; then, use that to build your shopping list.
Avoid Credit Cards
It’s easy to live in the moment and pay with your credit card without thinking of the debt you’ll face in the future. To avoid this temptation, take cash out of the bank and use only that to do your shopping this year.
Embrace the E-Card
If sending holiday cards is part of your annual tradition, you’re probably spending some significant dough on cards and stamps. Cut corners here by opting for E-cards instead. There are plenty of resources online that will help you pick out unique greetings for your friends and family across the country.
Take a Trip
If you’re feeling extra adventurous, you can cut out the gift exchange all together and take a family vacation instead. Trip packages are less expensive this time of year, and you can use the money you would normally spend on gifts to have a great, relaxing time together.
48 years ago, in July of 1969, astronauts took their first steps out of the Apollo 11 and onto the surface of the moon. This was a momentous occasion not only for all of humankind, but also for General Motors in particular, who would later have the opportunity to watch their technology – in the form of the Lunar Rover – be used to explore an alien environment no human had previously seen in person. This year, in honor of the moon landing, Chevrolet celebrated that time-honored achievement by honoring one of their modern innovations: the Chevrolet Bolt.
Why? The Lunar Rover, unlike any mainstream vehicles on the road at the time, was electric. With a 57-mile range, a top speed of 8.7 mph, and the use of antennas for communication, the Lunar Rover was a far cry from the Bolt, which gets up to 238 miles on a single charge, and offers a top speed of 92 mph along with connectivity tech over its OnStar 4G LTE hot spot. That’s quite a leap from the Rover’s capabilities nearly five decades ago.
The chief engineer of the Lunar Rover, Ferenc Pavlics, still remembers how his team broke ground to tackle a project never previously imagined and sees how it paved the way for EVs like the Bolt. “We pushed the boundaries of automotive technology,” says Pavlics, “and worked hand in hand with the astronauts on the vehicle’s design.”
The manual transmission versus automatic transmission debate has been ongoing since the invention of the automatic. Fans of manual transmissions like the way they have more control over their vehicle, allowing them to get better gas mileage and get the most out of the performance of their car. This has lead to various automakers attempting to recreate the gear-shifting dynamic of a manual while creating more space and being more safe and convenient. The next-generation GMC Terrain seems to have solved this dilemma.
The new 2018 GMC Terrain will feature push-button gear shifters. Called the Electronic Precision Shifter, the system consists of three buttons and two switches located below the audio system. The new shifter is the only one available on the GMC Terrain, but it is offered on all three engine options – two gasoline and one diesel. GMC representatives are eager to see how the experimental shifter functions in the real world, rather than just on the test tracks.
The push-button gear shifter in the next-generation GMC Terrain is said to be “intuitive,” with “infrequent and minor” mistakes, according to IHS Markit senior analyst Stephanie Brinley.
There aren’t many midsize pickup trucks that offer an abundance of off-road features, making the 2017 Chevrolet Colorado ZR2 a much-loved anomaly in the industry. Starting at $2,000 less than the nearest competitor, the new Colorado ZR2 packs in a vast array of standard off-roading features designed to take the avenger weekend and make it spectacular.
There’s a lot to love in the new Chevrolet Colorado ZR2, like the standard V6 engine that delivers a thrilling 306 horsepower and 275 lb-ft of torque. That engine comes paired with a smooth-shifting eight-speed automatic transmission.
There’s also an available 2.8-liter turbo-diesel engine that produces an impressive 186 horsepower and 369 lb-ft of torque. That powertrain comes complete with a six-speed automatic transmission.
No matter the powertrain, the new 2017 Colorado ZR2 features standard four-wheel drive, 31-inch off-road tires, a two-inch lifted suspension, and much more.
Drivers will enjoy advanced safety features, including a rear vision camera and electronic automatic cruise control. A standard aluminum skidplate protects critical components from rough terrain.

The Verizon IndyCar Series largely revolves around high speeds and insane acceleration. One factor that makes a major difference is the aerodynamic kits and engines the cars are outfitted with, and Chevrolet recently signed a contract that extended its partnership with the Verizon IndyCar Series as a major parts provider.
Chevrolet’s signing of a contract extension comes at the same time as many other major brands. Honda signed a deal as well; meanwhile, Dallara signed on to continue to be the chassis supplier and Firestone signed on as the tire supplier.
The IndyCar Series plans to revise the rulebook to allow for an all-new chassis designed to bear a much more attractive look. The new chassis will also change air flow, allowing for closer racing.
“It’s another sign of the positive momentum we continue to build as we grow this sport into the next decade,” said Jay Frye, IndyCar president of operations.
While Chevrolet and Honda may be competing automakers, they do share something in common. Both Chevrolet’s director of motorsports and Honda’s president of performance development want to see more automakers join the Verizon IndyCar Series.
Chevrolet’s signing of a multi-year contract solidifies the brand’s involvement in the IndyCar Series for the foreseeable future.
We here at Gjovik Chevrolet are happy to see Chevrolet extending its affiliation with the Indy Car Series!
St. Patrick’s Day is one of the most iconic holidays in the US, especially in the Chicago area. That’s why we here at Gjovik Chevrolet have decided to put together a post on the famous celebration. From dying the river to the famous cuisine, there’s something that everyone can enjoy on this Irish holiday. Read on to learn more about St. Patty’s Day.
According to Choose Chicago, one of the most well-known aspects of the Chicago celebration is the dying of the river. The sparkling emerald green represents the rolling hills of the homeland, something many Irish descendants can identify with. Ireland is often called the Emerald Isle thanks to its beautiful grassy areas. Many buildings on the Chicago Skyline are also lit up in green for the holiday as well.
Other famous traditions include the parade. Many Celtic performances are held along the main roads in Chicago, including dances, music, and more. The Loop parade is among the most popular, though you can also see the parade in other areas of the city.
Finally, St. Patrick’s Day is known for the food and drink. You can grab a green beer, though the most popular drink by far is a dark Irish stout. The best dish for the holiday is corned beef and cabbage—a salt-cured dish that’s ideal with Irish beer and whiskey. There’s no better way to celebrate than to have an Irish meal, watch the parade, and visit the green river.
Some automakers are turning a blind eye to diesel sedans following recent events, but Chevrolet is doing the opposite. The American automaker hasn’t done a great job keeping the new 2017 Chevrolet Cruze diesel sedan a secret. Small bits of information have been leaking over the past few months and now the automaker has confirmed the new model via a pricing announcements.
The new Chevrolet Cruze diesel sedan will start at $24,670 with a six-speed manual transmission. Drivers have the option to choose a nine-speed automatic transmission instead for a higher price.
The second-generation diesel-powered Cruze will boast a 1.6-liter turbodiesel four-cylinder engine that produces an estimated 136 hp and 236 lb-ft of torque. While Chevrolet hasn’t released official specifications, the same engine is used in a similar vehicle in Europe. Expect the engine to earn somewhere in the realm of 40 mpg on the highway as well.
The American automaker hasn’t released any pricing details on the Cruze hatchback diesel variant just yet. Expect that announcement sometime in the near future. For now, relish the fact that we’re officially getting a new Chevrolet Cruze diesel sedan for the 2017 model year.
Here at Gjovik Auto, we’re pumped for the official release of the new Chevrolet Cruze diesel sedan!
While many people out on the road are excellent drivers, there are plenty of people who motor around like they never went to driving school. Unfortunately, no matter how safe you drive, you have to be thinking about everyone else on the road too. Here are a few tips for driving safely.
Use Your Turn Signals
It may seem a bit elementary, but there are a lot of people out there who simply do not use their turn signals. Just like there are communication breakdowns when talking with people, there are communication breakdowns on the road which can lead to accidents.
Driving over the speed limit on the highway can be tempting, but speeding is one of the leading causes of accidents. In reality, going over the speed limit might only get you to where you’re going a few minutes early, so don’t risk your life and the lives of those around you for those few extra minutes.
Don’t Text and Drive
This one can’t be stressed enough. There is no text worth taking your eyes off of the road to read, so just wait until you get to your destination to read your texts and respond. If it really can’t wait, invest in a car that has Apple CarPlay or Android Auto.
As technology improves, we get safer and safer. However, it’s still important that you follow these few simple rules on the road.
