Numbers don’t lie, and if the GMC Canyon’s sales boost of 20% over last year is anything to go by, it’s easy to see that drivers love the Canyon. As the smallest truck in GMC’s lineup, the Canyon combines the maneuverability of a light-duty truck without sacrificing power. The newest additions to the GMC Canyon lineup prove that GMC is invested in keeping up the good work by adding new models, packages, and powertrain options.
The most notable addition to the lineup is a luxurious Denali trim. Common on GMC trucks, the Denali name is usually reserved for range-topping trucks with premium features, comforts, and amenities. There’s also a special edition All-Terrain Package that gives the Canyon a bit of off-roading prowess, for drivers who are interested in that sort of thing.
The newest engine in the GMC Canyon lineup is a powerful and efficient 3.6-liter V6 motor, which is mated to an eight-speed transmission. With a performance rating of 308 horsepower and up to 275 lb-ft of torque, the new engine is expected to provide improved fuel efficiency and better towing capacity as well. The new 2017 GMC Canyon with the new trim packages and powertrain options will go on sale sometime later this year.
