Chevrolet introduced 3 new models – including one model new to the US – during the 2014 New York International Auto Show (NYIAS) this week.
Updated version of Chevrolet Cruze compact car
The Chevrolet Cruze was one of the best selling cars in March 2013 as well as Chevrolet’s best-selling car worldwide.
The 2015 Cruze will include new exterior styling, but the updated cabin technology is exciting:
- 7-inch touchscreen with USB ports
- A text message alerts feature that reads incoming texts to you through the car speakers
- Remember Siri, the disembodied voice of your iPhone? She’s in your car now; the Cruze has Siri voice-controlled connectivity for iPhone
- Option OnStar compatibility with in-car Wi-Fi hotspot
“We’ve simply made a great, versatile car even better,” Steve Majoros, Chevrolet’s director of passenger car and crossover marketing, said in a statement. “Along with Spark, Spark EV, Sonic and Volt, Chevy’s lineup of efficient, technologically advanced small cars is one of the industry’s most compelling.”
2015 Chevrolet Trax is new for US, announced at 2014 NYIAS
2015 Chevrolet Trax compact SUV finally comes to the US late this year. The compact SUV market continues to grow in the US (spurred by rising gas prices) prompting the Chevy Trax’s debut here.
Its interior technology includes in-car Wi-Fi hotspot to which up to seven devices can connect – handy when you have a car full of family or friends and all their devices.
There’s plenty of cargo space, and the four-cylinder turbocharged motor generates 138 horsepower and 148 lb-ft of torque.
New ZO6 edition of the Corvette
Not a dream! Not an imaginary story! Chevrolet has announced a new edition of the 2015 Chevrolet Corvette ZO6.
Available in either coupe or convertible trim, Chevy will begin taking orders for the coupe Fall 2014 and for the convertible Winter 2015.
With its wide backend and aggressive front end, this latest supercar is designed to bridge the gap between competition and the street with a focus on the driver’s experience. Its V8 engine is expected to generate 625 horsepower and 635 lb-ft of torque.
The coolest feature? The optional Performance Data Recorder which documents your drives with high-def video overlaid with telemetry. See an example in the video below.
While these cars are only available viewing at NYIAS for now, check with Gjovik Auto about when the 2015 models will be available. And why not come in and test drive the 2014 models while you’re waiting? Gjovik customers are always welcome!
